From soup to nuts throughout the holiday period, we'll provide all the accents and trimmings of an Old World lodge, with the comforts and amenities of a modern resort. You can enjoy the Christmas holiday with us in two ways:
- A la Carte – Book your cabin (two-night minimum), then pick and choose from the many dining, activity and recreation options available.
- Christmas Package – Get the most value, fun and convenience from your visit by purchasing a two or three-night package, including meals, recreation, activities and more.

Each day we will offer an array of guided recreation trips tailored to the holiday season, including naturalist hikes, snowshoe trips to the Giant Sequoias and sightseeing tours of Yosemite Valley.
Our expert massage therapist will be waiting to indulge you after your day’s activities (reservations required) – or you can always just skip the activities and go right to the massage!

Each night our restaurant will serve our classic menu along with memorable holiday specials. In the tavern, eggnog and hot specialty drinks will be flowing, in addition to a broad assortment of wines, beer and spirits.
After dinner, we will offer a variety of nightly activities, including campfires, arts & crafts, bingo, holiday movies and guest speakers. And of course you’ll always have the wonderful options of reading or playing board games by the fireside, relaxing in our tavern or stargazing from your private deck.
On Thursday evening, we’ll kick off the formal holiday festivities. Catch a game in the tavern while the kids enjoy a Holiday Reading by the fire. Then enjoy s’mores under the stars and a family movie together.
Indulge in a lazy morning and a delicious hot breakfast, then get out and enjoy the day. Grab lunch to go and join us for one of our naturalist hikes or snowshoe trips. Arrive back at the lodge in time for a fun 'Make Your Own Snow Globe' craft project. If you’ve saved room after dinner, be sure to grab s’mores in between the night’s Christmas Reading and a memorable naturalist slide show.

Join us in Tuolumne Hall for a fun family craft. Let our staff help you make your very own snow globe to capture the memories of the season. You’ll have a unique souvenir of your special Evergreen holiday for years to come!
Enjoy an active day in Yosemite on one of our guided naturalist adventures, or explore the spectacular park on your own. Return in time for some crafts fun and make your own, custom tie-dyed shirt – fun to create and stylish too! After tie dye, relax a bit, then head in for a delicious dinner in our restaurant, complete with a holiday string quartet accompaniment. After dinner, enjoy hot toddies in the tavern, or head across the plaza for s’mores, board games and a movie.
On Sunday, we’ll feature guided tours and hikes as well as hayrides during the day. In the late afternoon, join us as we kick our Christmas family festivities into high gear with our 'Ornament, Stocking & Letters to Santa' event, as well as our Picture Frame Crafts and photo center activity. Later in the evening, be sure to join us for a memorable naturalist slide show.
Ornaments, Stockings & Letters to Santa
Back at the lodge, get the kids warmed up at our 'Letters to Santa' crafting afternoon, writing letters to Santa and making ornaments for the Evergreen Christmas tree. Enjoy yummy milk and cookies after dropping your letter to Santa in the mailbox!
Our celebration continues in true Christmas spirit throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
In the morning, grab the family and explore our pristine wilderness. Take a morning hike or snowshoe to the Giant Sequoias with one of our naturalist guides. Learn more of the history, folklore and fauna of Yosemite, and enjoy the breathtaking vistas of our postcard perfect scenery.
Return for an afternoon of hayrides, hot cocoa, cider and crafts, along with a special 'Tour of California' Wine & Cheese tasting. Enjoy live music in the Recreation Center followed by a memorable Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, then finish the night with a fun-filled pajama party!
'Tour of California' Wine and Cheese Tasting
While the kids are busy with holiday crafts, join us in the tavern for a fun and informative wine and cheese tasting. Settle in by the fire and sample wine and cheese from different parts of California with our knowledgeable host. Learn about wine varietals and discover how various cheeses can affect the flavor of each. Be sure to sign up in advance with the Recreation Department, as space is limited for this exciting new offering!
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
At the center of all the festivities is the Evergreen Christmas Tree. Grab some fresh, house made eggnog or cider and gather around our plaza. Hang your newly decorated ornaments and pinecones on our tree and see the tree come to life with light and live music. Bring your family to the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and help put the finishing holiday touches on our mountain lodge. Let the holiday warmth and cheer of the Evergreen spread from our family to yours.
Pajama Party!
Get the kids in pajamas, then head over for a roaring fire, hot drinks, 'T'was the Night Before Christmas' reading, and holiday sing-along.

Christmas Morning in Our Living Room
Bring the whole gang over to the Recreation Center to open gifts around the blazing fireplace. Relax on a couch and make yourself at home. Be sure to check the kids' stockings for special treats left behind by Santa.
Visit From Santa!
After his long night of work, Santa will be headed to the Evergreen for some relaxation! He’ll trade in the sleigh for his hot rod so he can greet the lodge in style. Come by the Plaza to have your picture taken next to the Christmas tree with Santa, or maybe with his hot rod if you prefer!
After opening gifts, bring your appetite, as Chef Aaron will be serving a special Christmas breakfast. Afterwards, hit the road and explore beautiful Yosemite Valley – our guides will gladly take you on an outing or help you plan one of your own.
Or just relax and enjoy the afternoon at the lodge, where we’ll have endless family activities to round out the day, including hayrides, t-shirt tie dying and picture frame crafts and photo center.

Lodge Movie Night
After a long day of festivities and fun, cuddle up and settle in for a lodge movie night. Or gather around our outdoor fireplace to roast s'mores and create a new holiday tradition for you and your family.
After the movie, join us for more holiday cheer in the tavern. Built in 1921, our all-wood tavern has a down home feel, the friendliest staff around and the tastiest of libations.
Sleep in as you recover from the Christmas festivities, then head over to the restaurant for delicious hot breakfast. Grab lunch to go and hit the trail with family and friends for the day. Join an interpretive hike, snowshoe (weather permitting) to see the world’s largest living specimens - Giant Sequoias, or take a sightseeing tour of Yosemite Valley.
If you are feeling a bit lazy, just spend the day watching NFL games in the tavern, then join us for a late afternoon 'Owl Prowl' hike.
After a day’s fun, arrive back at the lodge in time for your indulgent full-body massage (advance reservation required). Relaxed and refreshed, join the kids for dinner and s’mores by the fireside. Then take a well-earned break while the kids head off to Tuolumne Hall for BINGO – or join the kids and win a prize or two yourself!
