Spring Photo Workshop

Thursday, May 3rd - Sunday, May 6th

The Evergreen is proud to host this memorable workshop led by professional photographers, Jeffrey Davis and Robb Hirsch, with assistance from nature photographer Robert Ankrum.

Workshop Overview
Set at a time of year when waterfalls, wildflowers, and the spring colors of Yosemite are in full swing. Our Spring Photo Workshop offers instruction, presentation and hands-on experience to help transform guests’ experience with a camera. The program is designed to expand photographic skills, improve technical understanding and further enable your personal photographic vision.

In classroom sessions (Friday and Saturday), educational material is combined with image reviews and simple exercises to illustrate key principles. For the field session, the group will travel to both iconic locations and less travelled, hidden, yet stunning sites to explore photography in Yosemite National Park.

This program is designed to support amateur photographers who wish to learn how to work with their digital cameras and improve their photography. No professional training or experience is required. Familiarity with basic controls and operation of your camera is valued.

Workshop Goals
The progression of ideas in this workshop allows a guest to begin with basic concepts such as focus point, exposure and composition and build skills and understanding around critical relationships between controls on the camera and the final image produced. Our objective is to move beyond using “auto” and “program mode” and take control of image visualization, story telling and emotional expression.
