Adam Burns Band
Join us for a night of music as we present one of our favorite acts, the Adam Burns Band.

In February 2005 a very nervous Adam Burns made his first public appearance as a singer/songwriter at a Tsunami benefit concert in El Portal, California. Adam grew up in rural England and has been playing guitar and singing since he was in high school. However, it was the creative and passionate community of El Portal that inspired him to finally bring his songs out of the closet.

The Adam Burns Band was born in 2005, when drummer Greg Nespor and bassist Greg Archer joined Adam for the ‘Amstock’ music festival. Soon afterwards, the addition of Kristin Ramsey on vocals, violin and guitar completed the current lineup. The band offers a compelling mixture of motown, pop, funk, reggae and rock.

Green Machine
Join us in the tavern as we welcome the groovy reggae sounds of Green Machine.

Rising out of the post-Garcia and reggae scenes of the late 90's, Green Machine's constantly evolving sound has found its way into the hearts of music lovers everywhere. After years of experimentation with almost every genre, they have developed a unique sound that can only be described as "reggadelic jam jazz".

Tina Avila's powerful bass and vocals, Mars Copland's solid reggae drums and Chris Avila's guitar lines are complemented by the Rasta ramblings of reggae veteran Ras Horace. Green Machine's progressive message and solid grooves have landed them spots opening for the likes of Don Carlos and Isaac Halie Selassie. Their shows are truly a feast for the eyes, ears and soul.

Trespassers
Join us for a night of music as we present renowned local string band, the Trespassers.

Hailing from the Yosemite National Park area, the Trespassers original music is inspired both by the beauty of their wild surroundings and by the decline of natural places like it. They 'trespass' social and political boundaries, as well as the boundaries of musical genres. They write and cover songs influenced by bluegrass, old-time and gypsy-jazz.

The Trespassers aim is to travel around celebrating life, spreading a message of peace, love, respect, political revolution, social consciousness, and creative expression through song and dance, all in a touring vehicle fueled by recycled veggie oil.

Green String Farm Band
Join us in the tavern as we welcome from Sonoma County, the Green String Farm Band.

The Green String Farm Band makes pesticide free music - no overdubs, no edits, RAW. Their belief is that the creation of music has become overproduced, poisoned by progress and ignores where we have come from. They are not doing anything new just reminding people of our American musical history and folding in a unique Sonoma County perspective.

The Green String Farm Band was born on a single day of live recording in a 1900's School house. They chose original and traditional material with the grand plans to make people happy. This music is rough, real and to be sung out loud together.

Bourgeois Gypsies
Join us in the tavern as we welcome for the first time to the Evergreen, the Bourgeois Gypsies.

Featuring freewheeling musical wanderings through countrified blues, slinky swamp ballads and homespun hillbilly heartbreaks, the Bourgeois Gypsies mix slow-burning, porch setting music with poignant punk lullabies that make you tap your feet, clutch your heart and shake your head all at the same time.

With gigging in juke joints, festivals and smoky roadhouses across the country, the Gypsies are quietly building their following the old fashioned way, one night at a time.

Emily Bonn & the Vivants
Join us in the tavern as we welcome back to the Evergreen, Emily Bonn & the Vivants.

Emily Bonn & the Vivants perform original and footstomping tunes about riots, hollers and highways. As a former member of the critically acclaimed country band,The Whoreshoes, bandleader Emily Bonn shared stages with the legendary rockabilly singer, Wanda Jackson, Old Crow Medicine Show and Devil Makes Three. Emily honed her honky-tonk chops performing in San Francisco train stations, Belgian prisons, and at the world-renowned Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival 2007.

The Vivants include stellar musicians Anna Levitt on fiddle and harmonies, James Touzel on upright bass, and Isaac Bonnell on piano accordion. The band draws its inspiration from traditional cajun, country, western swing and old-time music. Lead vocalist Emily Bonn has often been compared to songbird Natalie Merchant and old-time country legend June Carter.

Antioquia
Join us in the tavern as we welcome for the first time to the Evergreen Antioquia.

Birthed in Colombia and bred in the Bay Area, Oakland-based foursome Antioquia makes music that inspires raucous dancing and deep listening. With influences ranging from Mahavishnu Orchestra to AfroColombian songstress Toto La Mompasina, Antioquia’s primary mission is to unite humans in the healing act of dance.

Peppered with fits of improvisation, bouts of silliness and fiery percussion pieces performed amidst the crowd, an Antioquia set is high energy, captivating, and anything but predictable. That said, you can count on each show to bring the audience closer to the stage, and closer together.

Old Californio
Join us in the tavern as we welcome for the first time to the Evergreen, the Old Californio.

Old Californio is clearly grounded in a quintessentially West Coast California musical tradition that combines the very best in folk and rock and country. You may already be a fan of some of the bands Old Californio might likely name as influences - particularly the counter-culture Bay Area bands like Moby Grape, the Grateful Dead or Quicksilver Messenger Service.

What we're talking about here is bright guitar-driven melodies with complicated and earthy arrangements, mixed in with a little down-home country twang and dovetailing instrumental jams, providing ample evidence that they also have a tacit understanding of what made those great classic rock outfits of yore so exhilarating and memorable in the first place.

Farewell Typewriter
Join us in the tavern as we welcome Bay Area independent rock band, Farewell Typewriter.

The members of Farewell Typewriter met at a vacuum cleaner sales conference in Pierre, South Dakota years ago. After a few banana daiquiris at the Kings Inn, the boys started jamming on some ukuleles and cigar-box guitars that were in the hotel lobby. Lo and behold, the seeds of the band were planted.

Farewell Typewriter's songs are influenced by music that spans several genres, but contains several key elements: solid melodies, interesting arrangements and memorable sounds. Hopefully you'll find that these all seep through into the band's music.

Whiskerman
Join us in the tavern as we welcome for the first time to the Evergreen, Whiskerman.

Whiskerman is a 5-piece blues/soul/folk band from Oakland, Calfornia, playing the songs of 23-year old singer songwriter Graham Patzner.

Backed by Lewis Patzner on cello and trombone, bassist Will Lawrence, singer Madeline Streicek (former lead singer of Antioquia) and drummer Nicholas Cobbett, Graham takes to the stage wildly wielding guitar, violin, piano and a voice that's both powerful and vulnerable. The resultant sound is a fusion of a simple folk backbone, rich classical core, wide-streching art-rock limbs and big jazz feet. The lyrics dig deep into familiar subjects of love and loss, but then wander into the territory of ghosts, and beyond before arriving back safely into a lover's arms. Be the song spindly or fierce, the energy this Oakland 5-piece puts out is palpable.

Good Medicine
Join us in the tavern as we welcome for the first time to the Evergreen, Good Medicine.

Good Medicine came into being in 1993 as a collaboration of guitarist Debbie Hutchins and bass player Frank Sipes. Nearly from their inception, Good Medicine was on the road playing every kind of venue from television and radio studios through restaurants and coffee houses to being concert openers for the likes of U. Utah Phillips, Rosalee Sorrells, Kim Robertson, Shawn Colvin, Peter Rowan, Box Set, Merle Saunders and others.

Good Medicine is about great music performed with the traditional "Pholkadelic" twist that puts the band outside of all music boxes. No two songs sound alike and no other band has such an uncanny ability to lift spirits and captivate crowds.
