Join us on a guide and guest favorite to the geographic center of the park. You’ll enjoy 360-degree views of Yosemite National Park and hike past one of the most beautiful alpine lakes in the high country. As we leave May Lake, we’ll also leave the crowds behind as we climb to the alpine home of the curious yellow-bellied marmot and prairie falcon. From the summit of Mount Hoffmann, we’ll see a unique and spectacular perspective of Half Dome and the High Country.

Throughout the hike, you’ll enjoy dramatic, memorable views of the pristine Yosemite landscape. This trip is the perfect way to get perspective on the grandeur of Yosemite and to round out your connection to this amazing national park.

8:30am-5pm

PRICE
$200 per person, age 12 and up. Includes transportation, naturalist guide, trekking pole rental, and lunch voucher for use in our General Store. Additional $20 park admission fee per adult (waived for Yosemite Annual Pass or America the Beautiful Pass holders).

GROUP SIZE
7-9 participants. 2 person minimum. Reservations recommended. Contact Recreation Desk for availability and pricing for groups of 10 or more.

DIFFICULTY/AGE LIMIT
Participants should be comfortable hiking up to 5.5 miles on flat to steep terrain at elevations between 8,600 and 10,850 feet. The trip is suitable for fit individuals ages 12 and up.

MEETING PLACE
All trips meet in the Recreation Center 15 minutes before departure.

WHAT TO BRING
• Completed trip registration forms
• Small backpack with minimum 48 oz. water and snacks
• Proper footwear–hiking boots preferred
• Layered clothing including wind/rain jacket (high country weather is unpredictable and can include afternooN thunderstorms and wind)
• Bug repellant, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses
• Camera and binoculars

OTHER INFORMATION
• Our first-aid-certified guides carry first aid kits, permits, maps, radios/cell phones, and water filters
• Guide gratuity is not included; for exemplary service, a 10-20% tip is customary
