Conquer Yosemite’s 2nd highest peak, an extinct, ancient volcano, on a strenuous 5-mile (round trip) hike that takes you through a lodgepole pine forest and up along the very steep, metamorphic rock-covered mountain side of Mt. Dana. On this hike you will start at an elevation of about 10,000 ft. and reach an altitude of up to 13,061 ft. at the summit with stunning  panoramic views of the jagged High Sierras, alpine meadows, and Mono Lake!

TRIP TIME
7:30am-6pm

GROUP SIZE
Up to 7 participants. 2 person minimum. Reservations recommended. Contact Recreation Desk for availability and pricing for groups of 8 or more.

PRICE
$250 per person, age 12 and up. Includes transportation, naturalist guide, and lunch voucher for use in our General Store. Additional $20 park admission fee per adult (waived for Yosemite Annual Pass or America the Beautiful Pass holders).

DIFFICULTY/AGE LIMIT
Participants 12 years and up should be comfortable hiking up to 5-miles and with up to 3,200 ft. of elevation gain.

MEETING PLACE
All trips meet in the Recreation Center 15 minutes before departure.

WHAT TO BRING
• Completed trip registration forms
• Small backpack with at least 3 liters water and snacks
• Proper footwear–tennis shoes or hiking boots
• Layered clothing including wind/rain jacket or fleece
• Bug repellant, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses
• Camera and binoculars (optional)

OTHER INFORMATION
• Our first-aid-certified guides carry first aid kits, permits, maps, radios/cell phones, and water filters
• Guide gratuity is not included; for exemplary service, a 10-20% tip is customary
