Yosemite National Park is Open

Yosemite Entrance Reservations
On certain days this Summer a reservation will be required to drive into or through Yosemite National Park between 6am and 2pm as follows:
- May 24 - May 26 (Memorial Day weekend): reservation required 6am - 2pm
- May 27 - June 14: no reservation required
- June 15 - August 15: reservation required 6am - 2pm
- August 16 - August 29: no reservation required
- August 30 - September 1 (Labor Day weekend): reservation required 6am - 2pm
How to Get a Reservation
Reservations are available on Recreation.gov.
Additional reservations are available seven days before the arrival date (e.g., for August 31 arrival, make a reservation on August 24 at 8 am Pacific time on Recreation.gov).
The non-refundable reservation fee is $2 (this does not include the $35-per-car park entrance fee).
Peak-hours reservations are valid for three consecutive days (including arrival date).
A Reservation is not required if you:
- Enter Yosemite before 6am or after 2pm
- Visit Hetch Hetchy, open sunrise to sunset
- Join one of our professionally Guided Excursion
- Take YARTS daily bus service to Yosemite Valley from our sister property, Rush Creek Lodge
- Have a Half Dome Permit or Wilderness Permit Reservation

- Get an early start on holiday weekends! To avoid long lines at the entrance and to find parking, we recommend leaving before 8am

Wildfire Status
Yosemite National Park is a fire-adapted ecosystem. The overall strategy for all wildland fires is to provide for the safety of the public, and to protect and enhance natural and cultural resources.
- There are no wildfires of concern in the Yosemite region
- Small wildfires routinely occur throughout the year in Yosemite’s High Country, however they do not pose a threat to our area and the majority of Yosemite’s attractions
- You can see Yosemite Valley live through the Half Dome Live Webcam and Yosemite’s High Country conditions through the High Sierra Webcam
- Any temporary smoky air conditions usually clear by the afternoon. For the latest air quality index for the areas you want to visit, check the Real-time Map on purpleair.com

Planning a Winter visit?
The EAST side of Highway 120, also known as Tioga Pass, or Yosemite’s EAST entrance, closes for the winter each year from November through May, depending on snow conditions at high elevations.
All other Yosemite entrances, including our Hetch Hetchy and Big Oak Flat/Highway 120 WEST gates, are open year-round.
